St. Pius Training Centre
- JSH supported since the mid-1990s
- Addresses the problem of unemployed women who are often the breadwinners of their families
- Women have the opportunity to gain employment with a stable income
- 3 separate 8 month courses, each providing one of the 3 skills
- A remedial literacy programme for those students needing math and English skills upgrading
- A job experience component for the students is built in at the end of each 8 month period
- 60 young women trained in marketable skills
- Training in catering, sewing and cosmetology
St. Patrick's Foundation Woodworking Programme
- JSH supported since 2000
- 60 inner-city young men aged 16-19 participate over a three year project period
- Literacy upgrading is included in the curriculum
- There is also Production and Business unit taught with the aim of earning funds for the programme
